Baltimore: Flight from Spirit Airlines makes an emergency landing after an apparent engine fire

According to an earlier statement made by Spirit Airlines to ABC News, flight 2077 from Baltimore to Orlando on Friday safely landed back at Baltimore Thurgood Marshall Airport after encountering a "mechanical issue" almost 30 minutes after takeoff.

"A suspected mechanical issue forced Spirit Airlines aircraft 2077 from Baltimore to Orlando to turn around and land in Baltimore. Visitors boarded the aircraft as usual after it safely touched down at BWI. The plane will be taken out of service so that our maintenance crew may inspect it because safety is our top priority "The declaration was made.


It took off at 8:35 p.m. on Spirit Airlines flight 2077, and it landed at 8:51 p.m.
