Periyar University Business Incubation Confederation (PUBICS) is a startup business incubator located at Periyar University, Salem.
The incubator is supported by Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute - Tamil Nadu. PUBICS specializes in the domain of Food Science and Nutrition. But they also support ideas from other domain too when the entrepreneur or idea is passionate towards his/her work.
The organisation is equipped with mentoring and business assistance facilities, food testing labs, makers space for production, mentoring and networking linkages, full fledged extrusion lines and snack bar unit, bakery unit, training hall, cubicals and co-working space for the entrepreneurs and students, browsing facilities and a cafeteria space.
All these support services are provided to the students, aspiring entrepreneurs, startups and companies for rental basis and they have made it as usable to all.
Currently the Periyar University Business Incubation Confederation supports 16 incubates, each working on different ideas to bring their idea to reality. The firm is registered as a Section 8 company, Non Profit organisation. PUBICS is governed by a Project Management and Review committee, Board of Governance members.

BIC@PU is supported by Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute Tamil Nadu (EDII-TN) and located at Periyar University campus, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. We also offer virtual incubation services and support for all passionate and entrepreneurship focal individuals as well as teams, working with a vision of building sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has recognized and awarded the fantastic work done in TamilNadu and specifically in rural areas to promote entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship Development Institute and Innovation Institute, was awarded the Best Ecosystem Builder in the Country in 2019.
People with an idea can approach the organisation by submitting their idea through their web or by contacting the incubation managers. Then, the ideators will be contacted by the officials and they will be associated with the organisation as an incubate. Like a hen incubates its eggs to hatch out good chicks, PUBICS incubates the ideas to hatch out successful and sustainable entrepreneurs.
The vision of the organisation is to building sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. PUBICS also helps the entrepreneurs financially by networking to various grants from the Government, EDII-TN, subsidies of MSME and also networks with angels and VCs based on the interest of the Incubate
