Tulsi Tanti, CEO of Suzlon Energy and a well-known expert on renewable energy passed away at age 64

Shri Tanti experienced a heart arrest and died on October 1st, according to a statement from the company.

Tulsi Tanti, the founder, chairman, and managing director of Suzlon Energy Ltd., went dead that evening on account of a cardiac arrest.


"We regret to tell you of the untimely passing on October 1, 2022, of Shri Tulsi R. Tanti, the founder, chairman, and managing director of Suzlon Energy Limited (the "Company"). Following a heart arrest, Shri Tanti passed away that day "The business declared in a statement.


The company added in a statement that "during this trying period, the Company continues to be supported by its highly experienced board of directors and senior management who are both equipped and dedicated to carry forward Shri Tanti's legacy and realise his vision for the Company.


In a letter to the company's employees, Ashwani Kumar, CEO of Suzlon Energy Ltd, wrote: "This is by far the most heartbreaking communication I have ever sent."


"While the world will remember Tulsibhai as a leader in wind energy and a combatant of climate change, we know him better as a champion of building a better world for our children and grandchildren. If our CMD taught us anything, it was how to be resilient, have the fortitude to stand our ground when things are at their worst."


The company created and exceeded standards under Tanti's direction, becoming a significant player in the world market for renewable energy.


Suzlon's R&D centres, which employ more than 200 engineers, are located in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and India thanks to his vision.


With over 11 GW deployed in India and over 2 GW placed in its second-largest market, the US, Suzlon has developed a global installation of over 17 GW in just 22 years.
